American Indian Paints and Dyes Workshop

  • Parkin Archeological State Park (map)

Colors have always been of human interest and even though the prehistoric Arkansans didn't have as many textiles as we do today, color was still important. Paints and dyes came from plants and minerals. At this workshop, you will learn how to find dyes from nature. Come learn about this skill and make some colors of your own. There is a $15 fee for materials. Preregistration is required. Participant minimum is 5 and maximum is 10.
